چکیده

We present preliminary measurements of branching fractions and charge asymmetries for the B meson decays B → η(′)K∗, B → η(′)ρ, and B+ → η′π+. The data were recorded with the BABAR detector at PEP-II and correspond to 89 × 106 BB pairs produced in e+e− annihilation through the Υ (4S) resonance. We find the branching fractions B(B0 → ηK∗0) = (19.0 −2.1 ± 1.3) × 10−6, B(B+ → ηK∗+) = (25.7 −3.6±1.8 )×10−6, B(B+ → ηρ+) = (10.5 −2.8±1.3)×10, B(B+ → η′ρ+) = (14.0 −4.6 ± 1.9)× 10−6 (< 22× 10−6 with 90% confidence), and B(B+ → η′π+) = (2.8 −1.0 ± 0.3)× 10−6 (< 4.5×10−6). We also set 90% CL upper limits of B(B0 → η′K∗0) < 6.4×10−6 and B(B+ → η′K∗+) < 12×10−6. The time-integrated charge asymmetries are Ach(ηK) = +0.03±0.11±0.02, Ach(ηK) = +0.15 ± 0.14± 0.02, and Ach(ηρ) = +0.06± 0.29 ± 0.02. SLAC-PUB-11888 Rare hadronic B decays.

The study of rare hadronic B-meson decays with branching fractions O(10) enable us to probe a wide range of phenomena. Such decays can be used to probe our understanding of the CKM [1] description of quark mixing and CP violation (CPV ) in the Standard Model of Particle Physics (SM) by measuring all three of the Unitarity Triangle angles α, β and γ, as well as charge asymmetries in direct CPV ∆...

Branching fractions and direct CP asymmetries of charmless decay modes at the Tevatron

We present new CDF results on the branching fractions and time-integrated direct CP asymmetries for B and B s decay modes into pairs of charmless charged hadrons (pion or kaon). The data set for this update amounts to 1 fb of p̄p collisions at √ s = 1.96 TeV. We report the first observation of the B s → K π mode and a measurement of its branching fraction and direct CP asymmetry. We also observe...

Flavor-Singlet B-Decay Amplitudes in QCD Factorization

Exclusive hadronic B-meson decays into two-body final states consisting of a light pseudoscalar or vector meson along with an η or η meson are of great phenomenological interest. Their theoretical analysis involves decay mechanisms that are unique to flavor-singlet states, such as their coupling to gluons or their “intrinsic charm” content. These issues are studied systematically in the context...

Sum rules for B → πη ( ′ ) , Kη ( ′ ) , η ( ′ ) η ( ′ ) decays

We provide a set of sum rules, using flavour symmetries, relating CP-averaged ratios and CP asymmetries of different neutral and charged B mesons decaying into an η(′) particle together with a pion, a kaon or a second η(′). These sum rules allow us to give a prediction for the B0 → K0η branching ratio. We also predict a clear sign anticorrelation between the two B0 → π0(η, η′) CP asymmetries, a...

Measurements of branching fractions and CP - violating asymmetries in B 0 → π + π − , K + π − , K + K − decays

Recent measurements of the CP -violating asymmetry parameter sin2β by the BABAR [1] and BELLE [2] collaborations established CP violation in the B system. These measurements, as well as updated preliminary results [3, 4], are consistent with the Standard Model expectation based on measurements and theoretical estimates of the elements of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa [5] (CKM) quark-mixing matr...
